KJ & V Green [Holdings] Pty Ltd is a company formed in 1963 trading as Green Brothers and is a family run musical business.

Green Bothers has a long history in the musical industry. They have a proven track record of sound knowledge and are very competitive in their pricing.

The store gives strong support to organisations promoting music in particular the school educational music programs, local musical union, local & state eisteddfods competitions, brass & concert band competition sponsors, rock band competitions and has conducted many musical clinics to show and give their clients the opportunity to get the most out of their musical purchases.

Over the years this business has flourished - offering a vast range of quality music products and services to a community market. The store has continued to expand along their street, occupying half the city block between 72 and 84 William Street.

Below is a brief history of our business.

1967 Opened a complete music store at 86 William Street, Rockhampton selling the popular brands of the time including Yamaha, Kawai, Lowrey, Boosey & Hawkes etc..

1968 Instituted a music college teaching piano, organ, guitar etc.

1979 Continued expansion of their musical business until premises at 86 William Street became too small.

1979 A decision was made to purchase a building at 72 William Street, on the corner of William & Alma Streets. This building was internally modified to suit their requirements and was officially opened as a large modern music emporium in May 1979 by the then mayor R H Reginald J Pilbeam.

1987 A foundation member of the huge buying group "World of Music" giving customers access to top musical products at special prices all year round, & producing comprehensive catalogues.

2008 Became a member of the "Complete Music" buying group which is Australia's only musical instrument retail co-operative with 25 stores nationally in all states. Owned by its members, stores offer great service and with its combined buying power, the latest gear at great prices.

2008 Green Brothers opened their Australian website, musicalshack.com.au. The website store was designed to offer you quality musical instruments and their accessories at competitive prices regardless of location in Australia.

2013 Green Brothers changed their website name from Musical Shack to Green Brothers with enhanced quality and features.
